Portai is tuned specifically for restaurant calls and configured with your hours, menu, and policies. During the pilot we review real calls with you and tighten prompts, so routine bookings and FAQs are handled end-to-end and edge cases are escalated.
What happens if Portai doesn’t understand a caller?+
If a guest is unclear, Portai asks a quick follow-up. If it’s still not confident or senses frustration, it can hand the call to a real person or take a detailed message instead of guessing and creating a bad booking.
Will guests know they’re talking to AI?+
Most guests experience Portai as a very consistent host that doesn’t put them on hold. We don’t pretend to be a specific person, and if a guest asks, we’re transparent—but the goal is a smooth, on-brand call, not a robot voice.

Yes. Portai is built to sit on top of your existing reservation flow. During onboarding we align how it books, modifies, and cancels in the tools you already use—OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms, or an in-house book.

Not much. Your hosts and managers still control the book. Portai follows your pacing, turn times, and party-size rules and takes the repetitive calls off the phone so your team can focus on guests in the building.
